Moulding materials comprise 100 parts by weight of polypropylene and 0À5 to 60 parts by weight of an orthophosphate or pyrophosphate of a transition metal. Specified metal compounds are of cadmium, zinc, tin (II), lead (II), titanium (III), vanadium (III), chromium (III), manganese (IV), iron (III), copper (II), silver (I), gold (I), mercury (II), zirconium (IV), hafnium (IV), thorium (III), niobium (III), tantalum (III), molybdenum (V), tungsten (IV), uranium (III), chromium (II), iron (II) and cobalt (II), including mixtures and double salts, e.g. of zinc and sodium. The compositions may be made into films, sheets and seals. Examples describe compositions of polypropylene and zinc, zirconium, titanium, and uranyl orthophosphates; and manganese pyrophosphate. |
