<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent poisoning of a catalyst by organosilicon compounds in a deodorizing apparatus in which odoriferous substances in a gas such as waste gas of a plant are decomposed in the presence of the catalyst (21), by removing or sufficiently diminishing the organosilicon compounds contained in the waste gas before deodorization. <P>SOLUTION: Organosilicon compounds in gas are converted to particles by the action of a low temperature plasma, the particles are captured by a filter (12) and then the gas is catalytically deodorized. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2003,JPO |
