PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a positive electrode material and a battery using it wherein a large discharging capacity and a high discharging voltage are realized and wherein a superior charging-discharging characteristic can be obtained. SOLUTION: The positive electrode 12 and a negative electrode 14 are arranged with a separator 15 between them. The positive electrode 12 contains a lithium complex oxide expressed as Lia MIb MIIc Od . MI expresses at least two kinds of a group composed of Mn, Ni, and Co, and MII expresses at least one kind of a group composed of Al, Ti, Mg and B. a, b, c and d are values within a range respectively satisfying that 1.0<a<1.5, 0.9<b+c<1.1, a>b+c, and 1.8<d<2.5. By containing lithium excessively, the charging capacity can be improved and a fixed amount of lithium remains in a crystal-structure even after charging, and stability of the crystal structure can be improved. |
