The hand grinder has an abrasive disc (4), driven by a drive motor (1) and having an abrasive sheet (21) fitted thereon, and a suction housing (3) which adjoins that side of the abrasive disc which is directed away from the abrasive sheet, which side is formed by a rigid plate (13), there being provided cutouts (23, 24, 25) which penetrate the abrasive disc and abrasive sheet and open into the suction housing (3) which is connected to a subatmospheric-pressure generator by means of a suction connection stub (12). In order to provide such a rotary hand grinder with an improved suction action, so that it also takes up relatively heavy and relatively large grinding-dust particles and is thus also suitable for grinding plastics, the effective suction region within the suction housing (3) is delimited by radial walls (8, 9) which enclose an angle between them of less than 360 DEG , and the suction connection stub (12) is arranged such that the sucked-off air is removed from the abrasive disc (4) in the direction of rotation of the latter, with a tangential direction component and an axial direction component. <IMAGE> |
