PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an apparatus for the selective oxidation of carbon monoxide in a wide temperature range with a high removing ratio of carbon monoxide in removing CO in a CO-containing mixed gas by selective oxidation. SOLUTION: The apparatus for the selective oxidation of carbon monoxide comprises a heat exchanger equipped with a heat transfer body 1, a refrigerant circulating within the heat transfer body 1, and a fin 6 formed on the surface of the heat transfer body 1; and a catalyst layer containing a carbon monoxide selective oxidation catalyst having an activity of carbon monoxide selective oxidation reaction, and the passage formed of the heat transfer body 1 and the fin 6 of the heat exchanger comes to a passage for a gas to be treated, and the above catalyst layer is formed on at least part of the surface of at least the fin of the above heat exchanger, and the surface on which the above catalyst layer is formed has been provided with surface-roughening treatment. |
