MANUFACTURING METHOD FOR MIXTURE CONTAINING HYDROGEN AND CO

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a process for manufacturing a mixture containing hydrogen and CO by the partial oxidation of a hydrocarbon, which has excellent energy balance to enable operation under a self heating condition and uses a small-sized manufacturing plant requiring a small investment. SOLUTION: The manufacture process of the mixture containing hydrogen and CO is performed under the self-heating condition that the endothermic reaction among unoxidized part of the hydrocarbon and CO2 and steam produced by an oxidation is kept by partially oxidizing the hydrocarbon using an oxygenated medium and recovering the heat released by the oxidation. A reaction gas mixture containing the hydrocarbon and the oxygenated medium is made to pass through a previously heated porous medium (4) and is heated by a heat exchange reaction with the same (4) to a temperature threshold value enough to start the combustion reaction to dispense with the heat supply from the outside in the continuous operation.
