<p>The hook (4-6) is of the coiled wire type, fitted to the end of an elasticated clamping rope used for luggage racks. The hook is an open type and may disengage when the tension is released. The safety clasp consists of a stiff, flexible tube (1). The tube has a transverse hole (3) close to one end (2), which is threaded onto and around the hook as far as the anchor point to the rope. The free end (8) is then pushed onto the end (4) of the hook. The clasp will resist a certain withdrawal tension (T) by virtue of the self clamping characteristic around the bend of the hook.</p> |
