Stacking metal crate with separate base - has angled integral edge strips connecting base to sides without restricting inner space

The stacking transport crate is made from sheet steel and has top stacking edges (7) and bottom stacking webs (8) which when the crates are stacked up engage in the slacking edges (7) on the opening side at the top. The crate base (2) is designed as a sheet metal blank separated from the longitudinal walls (5,6) and cross walls (3,4). The base is connected by angled edge strips (13) to the longitudinal and cross walls whereby the edge strips have transition sections (16) extending in one piece from the base, longitudinal walls or cross walls acutely to the plane of the base but obtusely to the plane of the longitudinal and cross walls. The transition section (16) forms adjoining the base plane the outwardly aligned stacking webs (8). The edge strips (13) have a free end section which either adjoins flat against the long and cross walls and is firmly connected thereto or engages underneath the longitudinal and cross edges of the crate base and is firmly connected thereto. USE/ADVANTAGE - The stacking crate is usable by robotic handling machines, and withstands long term use.
