PURPOSE:To improve the physical properties at high temperature of rubber compounded composition by a method wherein vulcanizing chemicals and kneaded rubber, which is prepared by kneading stock rubber and non-vulcanizing chemicals and then keeping the resultant mixture within the specified temperature range for the specified period of time, are further kneaded together. CONSTITUTION:The production unit used is equipped with a Banbury mixer 12 for executing a kneading process and a temperature retaining device 14 for executing a temperature retaining process. The temperature retaining device 14 consists of a belt conveyor device 22, a heating device 24 and a housing 26, which is made of a heat insulating box surrounding the belt conveyor device 22 in the form of a tunnel. Stock rubber and non-vulcanizing chemicals consisting of reinforcer, white filler, softener, tackifier, mastification accelerator, foaming agent, flame-retardant, colorant and the like are kneaded together with the mixer 12. Next, after the kneaded rubber is held at 100-200 deg.C for at least 1.0min, the resultant kneaded rubber and vulcanizing chemicals consisting of vulcanizer, vulcanization accelerator, scorch retarder and the like are kneaded together in order to obtain the desired rubber compounding composition. |
