FIELD: methods of production of refractory materials according to concrete technology; applicable in lining of brick firing cars and other heat units with working temperature up to 1300 C and also in manufacture of burner stones, etc. SUBSTANCE: method includes mixing of fireclay filler with binding agent based on self-decomposing ferrochromium slag with subsequent addition to obtained mixture of water glass. Introduced into mixture before adding of water glass is foam based on synthetic foaming agents or protein hydrolyzate in amount of 2.4-3.4%. This is made to improve workability of refractory materials due to increase of terms of their setting and heat resistance. Fireclay filler is used in the form of fireclay fractions of less than 8 and less than 3 mm with the following amounts of components, %: fireclay fraction of less than 8 mm, 25-34; fireclay fraction of less than 3 mm, 25-34; self-decomposing ferrochromium slag, 13-21.6; water glass, 15.6-26; foam, 2.4-3.4.
