METHOD FOR GENERATING A PUBLIC LONG CODE MASK IN A MOBILE COMMUNICATION SYSTEM, ESPECIALLY IN CONNECTION WITH GENERATING THE PUBLIC LONG CODE MASK BY USING OTHER PARAMETERS INSTEAD OF AN ESN WHILE PREVENTING COLLISIONS WITH OTHER LONG CODE MASK

摘要

PURPOSE: A method for generating a public long code mask in a mobile communication system is provided to generate a public long code mask which does not collide with other long code mask by using other parameters instead of an ESN(Electronic Serial Number), when using an MEID(Mobile Equipment Identifier) instead of the ESN. CONSTITUTION: A system uses an operational IMSI(International Mobile Station Identity) to generate a public long code mask. If the operational IMSI is generated on the basis of an MIN(Mobility Indication Number), the system defines a type of the public long code mask as '0010'. If the operational IMSI is extracted from a true IMSI, the system defines the type of the public long code mask as '0011'. The system generates the public long code mask by using the IMSI, depending on whether the type of the public long code mask is '0011' or '0010'.
