PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an optical scanner in which trouble can be effectively avoided such as image quality deterioration due to vibration of an optical box for storing a rotary polygon mirror, lenses or the like, particularly, due to vibration of the mounting part of a light source unit. SOLUTION: In the optical scanner for which a rotary polygon mirror, lenses or the like are stored in the optical box and for which a light source unit having a light source and an optical system for collimating light from the light source is arranged in the outer periphery of the optical box; one of the places at which the optical box is fixed on the scanner body is designed to be situated near immediately below the optical axis of the optical system in the light source unit.
