摘要 <P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To securely achieve dimension control between a light source and a light guide plate in which illumination light from this light source is made incident from the end face side, which is important in homogeneously distributing a light amount of the illumination light emitted from the front face of the light guide plate toward an illuminated body throughout the whole in constituting a surface light emitting type illumination device to illuminate the illuminated body from its behind by using the substrate mounting type light source such as a white light emitting diode. <P>SOLUTION: A plurality of recessed parts 5b are formed in the upper end face 5a of the light guide plate 5 to make the illumination light emitted from the light emitting face 3a of the white light emitting diode 3 incident adjusted to spacing of the white light emitting diodes 3, out of the mounting faces 7a of the substrate 7 on which the white light emitting diode 3 is mounted, a mounting face 7a part of both sides of the white light emitting diode 3 is made respectively contacted with the upper end face 5a part of the both sides of the recessed part 5b, and a nearly constant spacing &alpha; is made to be held between the light emitting face 3a of the respective white light emitting diodes 3 and the bottom face 5c of the respective recessed parts 5b opposed to this even if thermal expansion deformation is formed at the light guide plate 5. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2007,JPO&INPIT
