PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an information recording medium which is capable of displaying the contents recorded on a medium and is capable of maintaining the display even if the supply of driving electric power is stopped. SOLUTION: The information recording medium (optical disk) 50 has a liquid crystal display element 100 which constitutes a display screen by using liquid crystals having a memory characteristic. The medium 50 is used by being inserted into a write/read-out device 10. The liquid crystal display element 10 comprises the chiral nematic liquid crystals and displays the images of the contents recorded in an optical recording element 51. The displayed images are maintained even after the voltage impression on the liquid crystals is stopped.
