Display method used in a motor vehicle involving a first step of measuring a physical parameter of the vehicle; a step of displaying on a display means a counter indicating the measured parameter; a second step of measuring an energy consumption of the vehicle; and a step of altering the appearance of the said counter displayed on the display means according to the measured energy consumption.
