PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a slider material having a fine and uniform crystal with few circular opening by composing a slider material of Fe2O3 of specified composition, one kind or two kinds or more of NiO, CuO, MgO and the balance ZnO. SOLUTION: This material is composed of 48-55 mol% Fe2O3, 1-10 mol% MO (MO is composed of one kind or two kinds or more of NiO, CuO, MgO) and the balance ZnO. A formed body which is formed into a required shape dimension is preliminarily sintered at 1000-1300 deg.C. Thereafter, a hot static hydraulic press treatment which is held for a prescribed time is applied to the sintered body at a prescribed temperature and pressure. Whereby, a uniform and fine slider material, whose porosity is <=0.1% and whose grain size of average crystal is <=15 μm, is obtained. Since the material contains a uniform and fine crystal and is made non-porous, the material having precise workability, without the generation of chipping such as falling down of crystal grain and having excellent fitness with a recording medium is obtained. |
