PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To grasp the actual travel route of a vehicle and easily detect the illegal travel of the vehicle.SOLUTION: A route grasping apparatus according to an embodiment collects information from a vehicle via a roadside device. This route grasping apparatus comprises: a reception unit; and a control unit. The reception unit is configured to receive, from the vehicle via the roadside device, probe information including position information on the vehicle acquired by the vehicle when the vehicle is traveling on a toll road and first route information generated by the vehicle on the basis of the probe information and indicating a route on the toll road on which the vehicle actually traveled. The control unit is configured to compare the first route information received from the vehicle with second route information estimated on the basis of the probe information received from the vehicle and indicating a route on which the vehicle is estimated to have traveled, and to determine whether the first route information matches the second route information.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
