Titanium bodies (or Ti alloys), such as machine parts in a sliding contact with other parts, are anodically coated with a hard TiO2 layer (7.6 - 25 mu). - The coating can be covered by a layer of a resinous material of thickness >=5 mu m (such as PTFE), which may contain finely dispersed particles of a solid material, e.g. a dry lubricant. - Hard coatings, resistant to corrosion, abrasion and scratching are obtained.
