In a cold-box foundry moulding process, in which a mixture of sand, synthetic resin and hardener are made to react after moulding, using a catalyst to assist the reaction, the catalyst after use is passed through an ion exchange resin, to which the catalyst becomes chemically bound. - The noxious catalyst, e.g. triethylamine, is removed immediately after use.
