<p>The salts esp. penicillin and cephalosporin derivs, are prepd in high yield and purity under mild conditions by cation exchange. A trialkyl or triaryl silyl ester of the acid is reacted with R'OM, (where M is the cation required in the prodcut, and R' si acyl, alkyl, aryl, Si(alkyl)3 ro Si(aryl)3) in an aprotic solvent contg. insufficient H2O or alcohol for complete hydrolysis of the ester.</p> |
