发明名称 THERMAL RECORDING MEDIUM
摘要 PURPOSE:To enable heat pulses outputted from a thermal head to be used uniformly and efficiently without requiring special replenishing devices, by a method wherein a layer of a heat-fusible or heat-soblimable solid ink is provided on one side of a base, and a heat-liquefyable layer which is nonfluid at normal temperature and is changed to a liquid phase when being heated is provided on the other side. CONSTITUTION:The layer 222 of a heat-fusible or heat-sublimable solid ink is provided on one side of a sheet form base 221, and the heta-liquefyable layer 223 which is nonfluid at normal temperature and is changed to a liquid phase when being heated is provided on the other side. At the time of recording, the layer 223 is brought into contact with a haating means such as a thermal head, and is liquefies by heating. Since a gap between the heating means and a thermal recording medium is filled with the resultant liquid, thermal energy is transferred uniformly and efficiently. In addition, since the thermal recording medium such as an ink donor film is previously provided with the heat-liquefyable layer 223, it is unnecessary to replenish a liquid. Further, since the layer 223 is nonfluid at a normal temperature, outflow of a liquid into the interior of the device wall not occur under the condition where a power source is switched OFF.
