PURPOSE:To sufficiently dry and fix a recording liquid at the discharge time of a material to be recorded before the contact with a discharge roller or guide roller, by providing a fixing means following the movement of a recording head to fix the recording liquid on the material to be recorded. CONSTITUTION:A fixing unit 23 has a fan 24 and heater 25 provided to a housing 23A and drives the same by a fixing device driver to inject hot air from a jet orifice 23B and can dry and fix the ink image recorded by a recording bead. By providing this fixing unit 23 following the recording head at the position opposed to a recording sheet, the recording liquid elastically deposited on the recording sheet is dried immediately thereafter to fix recording image. Therefore, the disturbance or contamination of the recording image on the recording sheet by the discharge roller or guide roller brought into contact with the recording image at the discharge time of the recording sheet thereafter can be prevented. |
