CERAMIC MASS FOR FILTERS AND METHOD FOR ITS PREPARATION

The ceramic mass is used for making filters for the treatment of gases and fluids, especially fuels, oils and waste waters, which filters capture to a high degree any pollutions with sizes under 1 micron. The ceramic mass contains, in wt.%: plastic clay from 20 to 35 to which semianthracite or its derivatives are added from 42 to 70, sodium pegmatite from 10 to 25, sodium carbonate 0.4-1.5, potassium carbonate 0.3-1.8, calcium carbonate from 0.4 to 1.0, plastifier - glue or gelatine 0.8 to 2.8 and water 5-8% above 100% of the basic mass. The filters are made by mixing the initial raw materials where the pegmatite is calcinated and ground in advance, the clay is wet ground and dried to 3% moisture content in advance. The filters, extruded from the ceramic mass are cured for 30-60 min. at moisture from 15 to 20%, dried at 70 to 90C for 40 to 50 min. and are fired at temperature from 1100 to 1260C.
