The invention concerns an optical block for headlight, in particular for aircraft, designed to produce a light beam whereof the illumination is distributed along a preferred direction (y'y), comprising a reflector (1) combined with a front mirror (3), these two elements providing the light rays produced by a lamp (2), whereof the filament axis is arranged along said preferred direction, an illumination profile of predetermined shape. The invention is characterised in that the mirror (3) is neutral as far as the deflection of the light rays reflected by the reflector (1) is concerned, the reflector (1) has a globally rotary form whereof the cross section has a predetermined base profile, at least one part of the cross sections of the reflector (1) by planes parallel to that defined by the optical axis (x'x) of the reflector (1) and the preferred direction, are limited by a curve forming an undulation around the predetermined base profile
