METHOD FOR TRANSMITTING FAX DATA TO ISDN FROM PSTN

PURPOSE: A method is provided to transmit/receive fax data between an integrated service digital network(ISDN) fax terminal equipment and a public switched telephone network(PSTN) fax terminal equipment which have different fax protocols from each other. CONSTITUTION: A fax data transmitting method includes the steps of receiving(S100) fax data transmitted from a PSTN fax terminal equipment(100) and detecting(S200) a phone number of an ISDN fax terminal equipment(300) for transmitting the fax data thereto; discriminating(S300) whether receiving the request of transmitting the fax data to the ISDN fax terminal equipment; dialing(S400) the detected phone number after receiving the request; and transmitting(S500) the fax data. Thereby, fax data can be transmitted/received between the ISDN fax terminal equipment and the PSTN fax terminal equipment although they have different fax protocols from each other.
