PURPOSE: A method is provided to control a telephone call or a radio listening using a combination radio and an earphone-microphone. CONSTITUTION: A combination radio and an earphone-microphone comprises an earphone-microphone, a radio module, and an interface connector for supplying power supply outputted from a cellular phone battery to the radio module. A method for controlling a telephone call/radio listening using the combination radio and the earphone-microphone comprises the steps of: generating a first mode conversion signal by the radio module responding to a mode conversion command, in a radio listening mode, and converting into a telephone call mode by starting a radio mute function; checking whether a ring is received, when a cellular phone receives the first mode conversion signal, when the cellular phone receives the first mode conversion signal in an idle mode, and converting into the telephone call mode when sensing the ring reception; the radio module generating a second mode conversion signal by responding to the mode conversion command, and converting into the radio listening mode by releasing the radio mute function; and completing the call when the cellular phone receives the second mode conversion signal, and converting into the idle mode.
