PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a liquid crystal aligning agent for forming a liquid crystal alignment film which is not apt to have a rubbing flaw. SOLUTION: Disclosed is the liquid crystal aligning agent containing an aromatic amine compound expressed by formula (1). In formula, A represents a tervalent aromatic group and R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>6</SB>represent aromatic groups, where R<SB>1</SB>to R<SB>6</SB>may be different from one another or the same.
