PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To effectively and stably separate a reformed gas generated by reforming a raw material gas.SOLUTION: There is provided a hydrogen production apparatus which comprises: a catalyst layer for reforming a raw material gas to generate a reformed gas containing hydrogen; and hydrogen separating means which has a cylindrical body in at least a part of which a porous part is provided and a hydrogen permeable membrane provided on an outer surface of the porous part and separates the hydrogen in the reformed gas via the hydrogen permeable membrane and the porous part into the inside of the cylindrical body, wherein the catalyst layer is provided on an outer surface of the hydrogen separating means in a state where at least a part of the outer surface of the hydrogen permeable membrane is exposed.SELECTED DRAWING: Figure 2
