[Also in Divisions C1 and C4] A transfer comprising a pattern formed by a mixture of phosphor and glass particles is applied to a substrate and heated until the glass fuses so that on cooling the phosphor particles are embedded in the glass and the glass adheres to the substrate. A cathode-ray tube is coated using borosilicate glass heated to 300‹ C. Transfers include support film, covercoat slide off and strippable covercoat types made by printing or spraying a suspension of the mixture on to a backing sheet.
