1323323 Lockable ball joint A GLATZ 1 Oct 1970 [6 Oct 1969] 46671/70 Heading E2F A ball joint is lockable by means of a screw-threaded member 14 acting via a slidable pin 12 on a resilient or plastic member 16, e.g. of rubber, which is confined by a housing 5 and guide ring 15 so as to be able to expand only towards the ball 3 to thereby contact a plate 13 to urge a cup 4 towards the ball, the contact surface between the pin and member 16 being less than that between the member 16 and the plate 13 and the cup 4 being restrained against rotation, e.g. by pins 7 engaging in slots 8. The ratio of said areas may be varied by changing the pin 12 and ring 15. |
