PURPOSE:To provide a remaining amount detecting method for a printing material and a device thereof which are appropriate to roll change and continuous printing by using up a roll-type material for printing to its end without wastage and printing failure due to lack of the material during printing. CONSTITUTION:A printing device is provided with a winding core 1 with a detecting window 2, a printing material 4 which is wound around the winding core 1 in a roll shape, and a light detecting means 8 which is fitted in the core 1 and detects external light passing through the detecting window 2. A material 4 for printing is printed continuously to the printing material provided with a final point detecting device which is wound around the winding core 1 so that it may not cover the detecting window 2 by a specific length from the last point end of the material. These are the final timing detecting method for the roll-type material 4 for printing and the printing material with the final point detecting device detect that the remaining amount of the printing material 4 is less than a specific one. |
