PURPOSE:To preven the peeling off of an active material and the bending of electrodes by conveying positive and negative electrodes filled with the active material on belt-like retainers respectively so that the positive and negative electrodes are overlapped together as they are placed on retainers and a retainer is further overlapped above them. CONSTITUTION:A belt-like inner retainer 4 and outer retainer 5 are placed to move on active material filling belt conveyors 3, 3' respectively, and positive electrodes 1 and negative electrodes 2 filled with the active material by active material fillers 6, 6' are conveyed together with the inner retainer 4 and the outer retainer 5 respectively so that the positive electrodes 1 on the inner retainer 4 are overlapped on the negative electrodes 2 on the outer retainer 5 and the outer retainer 5 is further overlapped on the positive electrodes 1 to combine them together. After the combination, individual retainers 4, 5 are cut off for each electrode group, thus obtaining electrode groups with the positive electrode 1 and negative electrode 2 facing each other across the inner retainer 4 and with both sides covered by the outer retainers 5. |
