PURPOSE:To enable direct printing by holding a printer by hand, by a system wherein a printing head and a printing ribbon are contained in a casing, and a printing head driving signal is outputted thereto from a controlling part provided on the computer side in accordance with the displacement of the head. CONSTITUTION:When the hand printer comes to a part to be printed, the opera tor pushes a push-button 2 for commanding starting of printing. On receiving a printing-starting signal, a controlling part 15 starts operating to send a print ing head driving signal corresponding to printing data to the printing head 5 of the hand printer 14 to drive the head 5 with a timing determined by a pulse generated from an encoder 12 in accordance with the rotation of a cylindri cal roller 4, namely, the displacement of the hand printer 14. The head 5 operates printing pins 6 to print on a printing surface 13 through the printing ribbon. Thus, when the hand printer 14 is moved by the operator along the printing surface 13, a one-line amount of printing data displayed on a display part 17 are printed. Since the hand printer 14 is small in size and weight, print ing can be conducted at any part by holding the printer by hand. |
