PURPOSE:To improve cell capacity by welding butting parts of both ends of a metallic armored can. CONSTITUTION:Butting parts of both ends of an armored can 10 are jointed by laser welding in the range 13 of 50 mm from a 5mm under part of its upper end. Thus, mechanical strength of this can can be made equal or more to that of a double locking armored can, and almost no projecting parts of inside overlapping parts of the can are generated. Therefore, a diameter of a zinc can for an element cell 12 inserted into the armored can can be maximized, and the amount of a black mix for cathode formation can be made large in a degree by which the diameter of the can is enlarged, so that cell capacity can be improved. |
