PURPOSE:To prevent a color slippage from occurring at any region within a page. CONSTITUTION:In a color image forming apparatus, a first image carrier 20 is scanned by an electrostatic latent image forming device 24 to form an electrostatic latent image, and the latent image is transferred on to a second image carrier 21 after developed. Then, a toner image transferred on the second image carrier 21 is transferred on to a sheet of recording paper. The color image forming apparatus is provided with a speed detector 22 which converts the driving speed of the second image carrier 21 into a signal to detect it, and a driving device 23 which drives the second image carrier 21 so that the cycle of the signal detected by the speed detector 22 is synchronized with the scanning cycle of the electrostatic latent image forming device 24. |
