PURPOSE:To provide favourable sharpness and a long life by devising the blade bottom of a ball blade of a ball end mill to have roundness of 5% or more of a blade diameter and to smoothly continue to a rake surface. CONSTITUTION:Roundness of 24% of a blade diameter is provided on the blade bottom of a two-blade ball end mill 1, and each part except for a cutting blade ridge line 2 is connected to each other with a smooth curved surface. Therefore, a part including a ball blade is devised to be attached/detached with a screw and a ball blade part is made free to exchange. As a ball part blade pocket has roundness in this way, flow of chip comes to be smooth, sharpness comes to be favourable, cutting blade strength is improved, and a tool life is lengthened. Additionally, as it is of an attachable/detachable type, it comes to be easy to regenerate it. |
