APPARATUS AND METHOD FOR ACTION PROVIDED WITH SELECTING AND OPERATING FUNCTION IN NONCONTACT MODE

PURPOSE: To provide an action device for selecting one of the plural different operation modes in the device from a distant place and detecting an object in a free space without touching the device. CONSTITUTION: The action device 10 generates light and sound in response to the position of the hand of a player on three housings 12, 14 and 16. The device 10 has the plural operation modes which have the different sequences of the target positions of the hand to be executed by the player and mutually operate with the player. When the player selects one of the different start positions of the hand in a noncontact state with the housings, the device recognizes it and operates to start the operation mode corresponding to the selected start position.
