PURPOSE:To provide an inexpensive high silicon steel sheet excellent in workability. CONSTITUTION:This high silicon steel sheet has a composition containing, by weight, 4-10% Si, containing, preferably, <=0.01% C, <=0.5% Mn, <=0.01% P, <=0.01% S, <=0.2% Sol.Al, <=0.01% N, and <=0.02% O, and having the balance Fe with inevitable impurities or a composition containing 4-10% (Si+Al) and preferably containing the C, Mn, P, S, N, and O by the above quantities, respectively. In this steel sheet, O concentration in the elements segregating in crystalline grain boundaries is <=30at% and S concentration in the elements segregating in crystalline grain boundaries is <=0.2at%, and further preferably, sheet thickness is <=0.5mm and average grain size viewed from sheet surface is <=2.0mm. |
