REPRODUCER OF HIGH-DENSITY RECORDING MEDIUM

PURPOSE: A reproducing apparatus is provided to be suitable for a reproducing of a high-density record medium and to make a gap between a record medium and a head controlled finely. CONSTITUTION: In a reproducing apparatus, a head(31) photoelectrically converts light incident adjacent in a fine gap from a surface of the record medium(1). A light source irradiates light over threshold angle to an information recording plane of the record medium. A remote rotary driver rotates the record medium, and a light source driver(112) follows light source along the head. A fine displacement controller shifts the head in a fine displacement on the record medium. A remote sled displacement driver shifts the head in a large displacement on the record medium, and a reproducing processor processes data detected from the record medium by the head to reproduce the processed data.
