A backlight unit and an LCD using the same are provided to supply a lamp guide which can change a location of a holder part according to a lamp disposition interval to allow the holder part to have a location varying according to a kind of LCD. A bottom cover(52) has an opened upper side, and a plurality of lamps(58) are disposed in an internal space of the bottom cover. An optical member is disposed on the lamps. A lamp guide(56) includes a coupling portion(56d) coupled to the bottom cover, a plurality of holder parts(56a) including a holder holding the lamps and a first slider connected with the holder and supporting the lamps to a predetermined height within the bottom cover, at least one support portion(56b) supporting the optical member under the optical member, and a guide rail(56c) in which the first slider of the holder part is movably inserted. The guide rail extends from one side to the other side of the bottom cover in a direction crossing the lamps. |
