<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for improving antibacterial potency of an antibacterial agent using ions. <P>SOLUTION: The invention relates to an antibacterial method to prevent growth of microbes by using ions. After or during irradiating specific light to microbes, ions are to be in contact with the microbes. As the specific light, light having peak wavelength of 300-600 nm is preferably used with irradiating intensity of 500-500 μW/cm<SP>2</SP>.
