Strip material delivered from coils is passed between pairs of adjustable circular shearing cutters for cutting narrower strips of set width. The circular cutter pairs are arranged each on a pair of cutter shafts laterally adjustable, and in succession in direction of conveyance. The cutter pairs are pref. mounted on successive shafts laterally staggered to form regular or irregular cascades.
