1306823 Selective printing DATA PRINTER CORP 30 April 1970 [8 May 1969] 20792/70 Heading B6F Hammer impression mechanisms.-A print hammer actuator assembly comprises, on either side of the line of print, and below a bank of print hammers 10, an outer bank of hammer actuators 18 each comprising an electromagnetic core 19a with an armature 30 pivotally attached thereto and carrying an actuator arm 28 that extends inwards towards the line of print into engagement with one of the bank of hammers 10. Within each outer bank of actuators 18 is an inner bank of actuators 17, on either side of the print line, each comprising an electromagnetic core 19 with an armature 29 connected to an actuator arm 27 at 90 degrees. Two alignment combs 53 (Fig. 5) are disposed on either side of the line of print, each notched to receive alternate actuating arms of the inner and outer banks of that side, and to maintain the actuator arms 27, 28 in columnar alignment with the hammers with which they are associated. Inside each alignment comb 53, and spaced on either side of the line of print are a bank of independently adjustable rubber bottom stops 47 engaging each actuator arm. The stops are mounted on a pair of stop combs 48, and adjustment screws 57 engage the individual teeth of the stop combs 48. For each of the outer and inner banks of actuators, there is provided a transverse alignment comb 33 that when mounted to the actuator base-plate 1 locates all of the actuators of the bank in directions parallel to the line of print. Also, for each bank of actuators there is a single stop-plate 35 that aligns all the actuators of that bank in a direction normal to the print line. |
