PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a ring laser-type gyro which can detect the direction of rotation in a state that the mechanical mechanism of a dither (a very small vibration) or the like does not exist, in which a locking-in operation is hard to generate and which does not require a photodetector. SOLUTION: This laser apparatus which generates a laser beam 4002 and a laser beam 4003 which are propagated in mutually opposite circumferential directions is provided. An electric signal is taken out from the laser apparatus, and a rotation is detected. An asymmetric taper part 4000 is formed at a ring laser resonator 4001 in such a way that, when the laser apparatus is at a standstill oscillation frequencies of the laser beams are different from each other. |
