The socket coupling has sleeve with end seals for pipe ends and angular and axial misalignment is accommodated by the sealing sleeve. The pipe ends are pulled together by mechanical clamps. This coupling is used for high pressure water, supply pipeline to hydromechanical coal digging machinery. The coupling has cylindrical midsection and end flanges (13, 14) which project inwards. This coupling accommodates flexible sealing rings held on pipe ends within the coupling. Mechanical connection between the pipe ends is established by chain links (10, 11) which connect pins (9) in webs (3, 4) welded on pipe wall near ends. The chain links bridge the coupling. |
