<p>The organic polymer, such as a nitrile or silicone rubber, contains >=50 vol. % of magnetic ferrite (pref. Ba ferrite) in a strip 0.5 mm thick embedded in the groove ground into the road surface. The purpose is to provide a magnetised strip for highway traffic control, for detection by vehicle sensors, at lower costs than with the use of permanent magnets, and which will have a life equal to that of the road surface under all temp. and climatic conditions.</p> |
