<p>Multicyclone consists of several cyclone tubes arranged in essentially vertical arrangement having dip pipes extending from the top and having annular inlets around them opening into the dirty gas space and through which the dirty gas is drawn by means of a clean gas fan on the cyclone outlet. There is at least one other branch which connects the dirty gas side with the atmosphere, the cross-section of which is adjustable with respect to the pressure in the dirty gas side. In particular the dirty gas side is connected to the pressure side of the fan, with a butterfly valve in the line controlled by the pressure in the dirty gas space. The cyclone is used in separating dust from gas streams. The efficiency of such cyclones depends on maintaining an adequate gas flow. With reduced flow or different temps. the efficiency falls off. The mechanism allows this to be corrected and a constant high efficiency to be achieved.</p> |
