<p>The windscreen/headlamp washer system has a common pump (13) which draws water from a reservoir and pumps it to the windscreen washer jets, and selectively to the headlamp lenses. The side of the pump housing has a moulded flange to which the solenoid valve (30) for the headlamp washers is fitted. The valve is normally closed, so that the pump output is directed to the windscreen washers via the main outlet duct (15). When the solenoid valve is activated, by direct connection to the lamp switch, it opens a second outlet duct (16) to the headlamp washers. With the pump and solenoid mounted as one unit no special connecting pipes are required, nor any special mounting brackets.</p> |
