<p>Solar energy collector has branches and channels for a heat transfer fluid mounted in a box. This is internally lined with thermal insulation and has a transparent cover which can be laminated from several layers. It has an integral frame and completely covers the absorber box. At least three sides of the collector are kept free of branches or connections so that additional units can be mounted alongside without the need for joints to be made. The connections can be made partially or completely through the base of the collector or through the side. Alternatively one branch can be through the base and one through the side. Used for recovering solar energy. The usual problem with collectors is that the branches at the sides mean that a significant area for absorption is lost and the lattice pattern is not aesthetically attractive. The collector described allows the units to be directly mounted together.</p> |
