The invention relates to a manufacturing process which makes it possible, with a single one-piece mould, to form ornamental table tops in one main operation, the reverse side of the top being equipped with fastening inserts previously positioned in the bottom of the mould, and the upper side, once the coloured pastes have been sufficiently hardened, being ready to be finished by planing to bring out the marble effect which is then coated with a transparent protective film.
